Is Deriv MT4 still available?
No — Deriv has discontinued MetaTrader 4. Deriv now runs a single MetaTrader platform: Deriv MT5 (DMT5). If you came looking for MT4, Deriv MT5 is its direct replacement and unlocks more markets — forex, stocks, commodities, cryptocurrencies and Deriv's own synthetic indices — from one login. Deriv also offers its in-house Deriv Trader and Deriv X web platforms if you'd rather skip MetaTrader entirely.
What you gain moving from MT4 to Deriv MT5
- More markets: MT4 was forex-first; Deriv MT5 adds stocks, indices, commodities, crypto and 24/7 synthetic indices.
- More analysis: 21 timeframes and 38 built-in indicators, versus MT4's 9 and 30.
- Hedging: MT5 allows multiple positions per symbol and simultaneous buy and sell; MT4 permits only one position per symbol.
- Same MetaTrader feel: Expert Advisors, one-click trading and the familiar layout carry over.
How to download Deriv MT5
- Open a Deriv account. You need a Deriv profile to create an MT5 login. Create or sign in to your Deriv account.
- Open the MT5 dashboard in your Deriv account and add an MT5 account — demo or real, and the account type you want (for example Standard or Financial).
- Download for your device: Windows, macOS, iOS or Android — or use the browser-based web terminal with nothing to install.
- Log in with the Deriv MT5 server, login and password shown on your MT5 dashboard.
System requirements
- Windows: Windows 8.1 or later.
- macOS: a recent macOS via the official MT5 build, or the web terminal.
- Mobile: iOS 12.4+ or Android 6.0+.
- Any device: the Deriv MT5 web terminal runs in any modern browser.
Demo vs. real
New to the platform? Add a free Deriv MT5 demo — the same terminal with virtual funds — then open a real MT5 account when you're ready. The download is identical; only the account you log into changes.
Troubleshooting
- Can't find MT4: it has been retired — use Deriv MT5, the supported replacement.
- "Invalid account" on login: use the MT5 login from your Deriv dashboard (not your main Deriv email) and the matching MT5 server.
- Charts not updating: the market may be closed — though Deriv's synthetic indices trade 24/7.
