Top Brokerage Firms in the World
Tracked byIndependent review teamUpdated
Our working shortlist of online brokerage firms open to traders worldwide — ranked on real trading cost, regulation, track record and how quickly you can actually open and fund an account. Availability in your country is flagged on every card below.
Our current #1 for most traders. See the full ranking below.
“Best in the world” means something different depending on what you trade. The firms on this list are multi-asset online brokers — forex, CFDs, stocks, indices, commodities and crypto under one login — chosen because they accept international clients and publish pricing we can independently verify. We don’t rank US full-service names like Fidelity or Schwab here: they’re excellent, but they don’t open accounts for most of the world.
Order is driven by data, not partnerships. A tier-one regulator, a low all-in cost per trade and a decade-plus track record push a firm up the list; thin regulation or a high minimum deposit push it down. Start at the top, but always check the availability badge and the regulator tags for your country before you open anything.

How we score
Full methodology →Editorial rating is a weighted score across four categories. The largest weight goes to actual per-lot trading cost, because it is the one metric every retail trader materially feels.
We verify regulator status against the FCA, ASIC, CySEC and other registries. Spread figures are broker-published — copied from each broker's specification page, not live-tracked. We do not run live execution tests, time withdrawals, or open support tickets.
Affiliate relationships do not move positions in this list. When a broker pays us more per lead, that shows in our paid-placement disclosure — not in the ordering.

Frequent questions
5What is the best brokerage firm in the world?
There is no single best broker for everyone — it depends on what you trade and where you live. On our data-led ranking, FxPro currently leads for most international traders on the combined score of trading cost, regulation and track record. Use it as a starting point, then check the regulator tags and availability badge for your own country before opening an account.
How are the top brokerage firms ranked?
Each firm is scored on four weighted factors: all-in trading cost (35%), strength of regulation (30%), company track record and history (20%), and accessibility such as minimum deposit and platform choice (15%). Position is driven by that score, not by commercial partnerships.
Are these brokerage firms available worldwide?
All 9 firms accept international clients, but none serves every country — brokers are restricted in different markets for licensing reasons. Every card shows an availability badge and warns you if the firm does not accept clients from your location, so check it before you register.
Why are Fidelity, Charles Schwab and Vanguard not on the list?
Those are strong US full-service brokers, but they mainly serve US residents and do not open accounts for most of the world. This ranking covers multi-asset online brokers that take international retail clients and publish pricing we can independently verify — a different category aimed at a global audience.
How much money do I need to open an account?
It varies by firm. The most accessible brokers here open an account from as little as $5, while a few aimed at active traders set higher minimums. The exact minimum deposit is shown on every broker card.
